Biography of Marty Turner, Director of Geenyous Limited

Marty was born Martin Stewart Turner on the 21st June 1975 in Henley-on-Thames.

Marty had a passion for learning computers and the use of technology which was fueled by his parents after their purchase of the family’s first computer, the Commodore Plus 4, when he was about 10 years old. He and his brother would not only play games on it, but would often write simple programs, learning by trial and error.

His career started when he left with a college course in Information Technologies at Reading College. This was an eye opener showing the way computers were used commercially and how they could be tailored to suit a specific function.

Marty’s commercial break came in 1992, with a job at a software house called New Information Paradigms in , where he wrote bespoke software for corporate clients. This also introduced planning and budgeting and rounded off the requirements that he needed to learn.

After further jobs ranging from sales to database programming to large set data modelling to 3rd line technical support, Marty settled into a career for an amazing conference company called Conference Creations Limited. He has excelled in this position since 2002.

In 2008, Marty decided to setup Geenyous Limited. This vehicle would be a part time consulting company to aid small to medium businesses gain the most from their technology.

Ultimately, he is aware that companies know their own business, but do not necessarily know how to best utilise the tools available to them in terms of their IT/IS.
